BLIK BLIK Nevřeň

BLIK BLIK Nevřeň - 2024

In its eighth year, the BLIK BLIK festival is expanding beyond Pilsen. Echoes of the BLIK BLIK festival will take place on 5–7 April 2024 in the kaolin mine in Nevřeň.

With 300 inhabitants, the village of Nevřeň will probably become the smallest village in the world to host the festival of light. The unique underground environment of the kaolin mine will serve as the backdrop for the festival. The festival of light will thus take place in an unusual way during daylight hours.

Alhambra

The icosahedron cut through by a delicate landscape in the Alhambra decor, is a welcome object of the festival. One of the smaller halls of the mine is illuminated by rays of sacred geometry reminiscent of Moorish palaces in Granada.

Animals

Authors: Suren Manvelyan (ARM) a Ivo Opl (CZ)

Cathegory: interactive installation

Chimpanzee, Mouflon, Ravenclaw or several lizards. This is just some of the animals that you can meet at various places along the mining route. Photos of the eyes were set in motion on retired cell phones. Just like in nature, animals disappear when disturbed by noise...

Echolokace

Authors: Julie Tampierová (CZ), Jakub Nosek (CZ)

Cathegory: videomapping

Occasional inhabitants of the mine - bats, use echolocation for orientation and hunting, a principle identical to radar. Projected images include pulsating circles, light waves and abstract swarms. Visual effects are synchronized with surround sound to create a multi-sensory experience.

Vodopád

Author: Niko Tiainen (FIN)

Cathegory: videomapping

An extraordinary waterfall surrounds the entrance gate to the main hall. In an endless loop, it alternates between a natural form and an artistic one, which defies the laws of nature and the flow of time.

Inspiro

Author: Kashmir Studio (CZ)

Cathegory: light installation

Thirty-two-sided object in the inspiro decor draws a gentle play of light and shadow on the generous walls of the mine. In this case, the shape that we also know as a soccer ball floats in space resembling a cosmic gate.
